Landmannalaugar-Hochlandgebirge auf Island

Landmannalaugar liegt im Naturschutzgebiet Fjallabak im isländischen Hochland.

Eine der beeindruckendsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Landmannalaugar sind die farbenfrohen Rhyolithberge. Rhyolith ist ein Vulkangestein aus Quarz und Kieselsäure. Mineralien wie Eisen und Schwefel verleihen den Bergen zusätzliche Farbe.

One of the most memorable features of Landmannalaugar are the colorful rhyolite mountains. Rhyolite is a type of volcanic rock that is made of quartz and silica. Minerals as iron and sulphur add extra color to the mountains.
